The Growing Project is a force of the community. For over a decade, our work has been cultivated by dedicated community members. Volunteers nurture food, people, and justice through tending to the plants and soil, building gardens, grant-writing, coordinating events, guest-teaching, and more.

Garden Volunteer Hours

FoCo Commons Garden: At our communal garden next to the FoCo Cafe, volunteers help with planting, weeding, watering, harvesting, cleaning, and other site maintenance. Wednesdays 5:30pm-7:00pm and Sundays 12pm-1:30pm.

Watering Crew

At the FoCo Commons Garden in Old Town, our veggies need lots of water. Volunteers are a huge help in keeping the garden hydrated. This is a great opportunity to connect with the plants and earn a meal at the FoCo Cafe. If you would like to train and join the watering crew, please email megan.gross@thegrowingproject.org with "Watering Crew" in the email subject.

The Growing Project is stronger when community members share resources, including skills to support the behind-the-scenes operations of TGP! Have a skill to offer? Let us know volunteer@thegrowingproject.org
