JOIN OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Our volunteer board of directors works with TGP staff to do strategic planning for our future, develop and approve our annual budget, and serve as spokespeople for our work. Having a diverse and active board is an important part of our organizational structure, and we conduct our main board recruitment once per year. Our annual board recruitment period has closed for 2022, but you can sign up for our newsletter at the bottom of the page to stay in the loop for our next application cycle.

The Details:

  • Time commitment: 5-10 hours/month

  • Modality of commitment: Given ongoing covid concerns we currently conduct meetings via Zoom, but look forward to meeting in person, at least occasionally, if/when it's safe to do so. In-person activities take place at various locations around Fort Collins. We try to make meetings as accessible as possible when it comes to things like scheduling, transportation for in-person gatherings, and similar.

  • Term length: two years (with the option to renew at the end of your term)

TGP Board Member Responsibilities:

  • Promote TGP's work and values to the community and act as a spokesperson.

  • Promote the needs of those TGP works with, advocate for their interests, and on their behalf, hold TGP accountable.

  • Attend at least 75% of board meetings, committee meetings, strategic planning retreats, and special events.

  • Actively participate in, and take responsibility for, decision-making on budgets, policies, hiring of TGP Co-Directors, and other matters. Speak up if you have ideas, questions, or concerns.

  • Excuse yourself from discussions and votes where you have a conflict of interest.

  • Actively participate in at least one committee while serving on the board.

If you are interested in collaborating in the garden in ways not listed on our website, we would love to hear from you!
