If you'd like to join our team of awesome volunteers, please read ALL information below!

Steps to Volunteer with The Growing Project:
1.  Fill out the online application below.
2.  Check the orientation dates below AND RSVP to our volunteer coordinator at volunteer@thegrowingproject.org

All volunteers are required fill out this
online volunteer application before attending an orientation (you must email us to sign up for an orientation, see below).
Volunteer Opportunities
TGP Educational Garden at The Burrow:   Come learn sustainable growing techniques and help out at our  garden and hoop house.  Volunteer hours every Monday and Thursday 5-7 pm and Monday morning 9:00 am-11:00 am.   Volunteers can take home produce in exchange for their work based on the time of season!  All volunteers must attend a volunteer orientation (dates below). 

Farm Rules

1.  ALL volunteers must attend an orientation and receive confirmation from our volunteer coordinator before showing up at the farm (instructions below).
2.  NO DOGS
3. Ride your bike, parking is limited
4.  If you drive please make sure to drive in slowly, open and close the green gate behind you, and park in the designated parking area.
5. If you bring your children, they MUST be supervised by a parent at all times.  
6. STAY IN THE DESIGNATED AREAS of the farm.  DO NOT ENTER THE SOUTH PASTURE, DO NOT ENTER THE AREA AROUND THE HOUSE!
7.  No more than 30 volunteers allowed on the property for any volunteer session!  Staff will be monitoring this!




 Volunteer Orientations

 To volunteer in our gardens you MUST attend a volunteer orientation. They will last about 30-45 minutes, you will meet the crew, learn about TGP, and get the run down about the farm. Please email volunteer@thegrowingproject.org to RSVP one of the following orientations:

We only have 2 orientations a month. The sooner you attend orientation, the sooner you can volunteer! SPACE IS LIMITED. You must RSVP for an orientation a minimum of 48 hours before. You will receive a confirmation from volunteer coordinator once you've been signed up. DO NOT JUST SHOW UP at the farm without confirmation from us.

ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST FILL OUT THE ONLINE VOLUNTEER APPLICATION BEFORE ATTENDING AND ORIENTATION (see above)!

We are 1/4 mile off the Poudre Bike Trail, please ride your bike if you can, PARKING MAY BE LIMITED!

Group Volunteer Opportunities: The Growing Project is capable of hosting groups of volunteers from 5-30 individuals at our garden depending on the time of year. This volunteer sessions can be between 1-3 hours long and may included a service learning component if requested that challenge participants to think critically about issues of sustainable agriculture and food access for an additional cost.  We do charge for ALL group opportunities due to the staff time dedicated to facilitating large groups and planning activities.  Sliding scale available depending on group.  Email volunteer@thegrowingproject.org for more details.

Groups of 10 or less= $50 per hour
Groups of 10-20= $80 per hour
Groups of 20-30= $100 per hour


Volunteer Benefits 
  1. Volunteers may take home produce from TGP gardens in exchange for volunteer work.
  2. Volunteers may exchange time worked for entrance into TGP University classes.  Attending 2 volunteer sessions is equivalent to one entry into a standard TGPU class.  Special workshops excluded.
  3. Volunteers will receive a TGP t-shirt after 25 hours worked.
  4. Volunteers join a unique and fun community of growers, givers, and great friends!  We often have volunteer potlucks and hang out after volunteer hours.
