The Growing Project Gardens

Picture
The Growing Project has built many gardens over the years and have assisted in the maintenance of many others.  We have many different types of gardens:

  • Friends of TGP:  The Growing Project helps build and maintain gardens at with other organizations/business.  We are not always super involved in these gardens but always provide materials and advice for budding gardeners.  We work closely with The Family Center/La Familia to implement garden programming at their facility.
  • Home Base:  The Mothership is our 1/4 acre garden space.  We hold weekly volunteer hours here, workshops, and youth programming with the nonprofit Sproutin' Up.
  • Fort Collins Housing Authority:  The Growing Project works closely with Fort Collins Housing Authority to install and maintain community gardens in low-income neighborhoods.
  • Low-income:  The Growing Project works with Habitat for Humanity and various mobile home parks to install and maintain community gardens in low-income neighborhoods.
  • Residential:  In the past The Growing Project has worked with home owners to install gardens in their yards.  Most of the food is donated back to The Growing Project to distribute to other nonprofits.

At this time The Growing Project doesn't have community garden plots open to the public.  For the most part we work with partner organizations to work in low-income neighborhoods.  For people interested in gardening please consider volunteering at our home base garden. For more info click HERE.  All volunteers are welcome to take produce home.
