Food Distribution
The Growing Project is dedicated to getting healthy foods to families and individuals in need and to reducing food waste in the Fort Collins community through food distribution and donation.
The majority of the food has historically been donated back into the community in the following ways:
All the produce grown in our neighborhood Urban Foods Outreach gardens is distributed among garden participants and their neighbors.
The majority of the food has historically been donated back into the community in the following ways:
- 2 youth-ran free markets, one at The Boys and Girls Club and one at The Family Center/La Familia. The kids from each facility help harvest and hand out produce to families.
- A free farmers market at Stonecrest Mobile Home Park ran by Stonecrest Residents, produce is delivered door-to-door in this neighborhood
- A free farmers market stand at Hickory Villages Mobile Home Park
- A free farmers market stand with veggies, seeds, and starts in front of The Food Bank for Larimer County
- The Feeding the Families program by The Vegetable Connection that helps us provide CSA shares to low-income families
- Our community meals we host after our evening volunteer hours to feed our volunteers, interns, and any community member that is hungry
- Volunteers at the Educational Farm can take produce in exchange for their help
- Lunches for our teen programs
